FAQ

Frequently asked questions

In the order a newcomer genuinely wonders about. If you can’t find what you’re after, write to us and we’ll add it.

Getting started

I’ve never done pilates, can I start?
Yes; most of our clients start from scratch. The first session is an assessment: we talk through your posture, movement limits and any history of pain. The programme is built from there, not the other way round.
What should I bring to my first class?
Comfortable clothes you can move in and grip socks. If you don’t have grip socks, you can get a pair at the studio. No shoes needed.
I’m not flexible, is that a problem?
No. Flexibility isn’t a prerequisite for pilates, it’s a result. Movements are adapted to your current range.
Is there an age limit?
In practice, no. Because resistance and movement choices are adjustable, it adapts to a wide age range. For certain health conditions we may ask for a doctor’s clearance.

Classes

Should I start with the reformer or the mat?
Either works. On the reformer, springs assist some movements, so it can feel more accessible at the start. We decide together in the first assessment.
How many days a week should I come?
Two days a week gives most people steady progress. One day still makes a difference, just more slowly.
How long is a session?
Sessions are 50 minutes. The first assessment can run a little longer.
How many people are in a group class?
We work at a boutique scale: few people in the room at once. That’s a deliberate choice, so the instructor can see every repetition.

Health

I have a disc herniation in my back or neck, can I do it?
That’s a question for your doctor. If they’ve cleared you and you’ve shared your limits, we build the programme around them. Without clearance we avoid risky movements. Pilates is exercise, not a treatment.
I’m pregnant, can I do pilates?
A doctor’s clearance is essential. With clearance, a programme adapted to your stage can be built. We don’t start without it.
When can I start after giving birth?
After the date your doctor allows. We usually build a gradual return programme; if there’s abdominal separation, movement choices are adjusted accordingly.
Will I be sore after a class?
In the first weeks you might be, especially in the deep muscles you haven’t worked before. Sharp pain, or pain in a joint, is not normal, tell us if that happens.

Membership

How much does it cost?
Packages are 8 or 16 sessions, and there is an 8-session package for a two-person duo. The same price list applies to everyone. Two things change it: how many sessions you buy, and whether you train alone or as a pair, where the per-person rate is lower. We give the figure at the first meeting. Reach us on WhatsApp or by phone.
Is there a trial class?
The first assessment is free: so you can see the studio, meet your instructor and ask questions.
What happens if I cancel a class?
If you let us know a set time in advance, your class credit is protected. The rule is shared clearly when your membership starts.
Can I freeze my package?
Freezing is possible in situations like travel or health. We discuss the terms in the meeting.

Studio

Where are you, and how do I get there?
İçerenköy, Ihlamur Ağacı Sokak No:6/C, Ataşehir. A street-level, glass-fronted room, no stairs to go down.
Is there a shower and a changing room?
There’s a changing room and lockers. Reach us for details.
Which days are you open?
We’re open every day except Saturday, 09:00–22:00.

One class is enough, the body tells the rest.
